After Barcelona (see previous blog post) we jumped on a plane straight to Madrid. I had no clue what to expect as I hadn’t really seen any pictures on social media, unlike Barcelona. I was pleasantly surprised as I instantly preferred it over Barcelona. I loved the vibe the city offered, plus the coffee scene was much better in my opinion.

”OK, BUT FIRST COFFEE”
My Favourite shop in Madrid hands down was Coffee and Kicks, we must of visited at least twice a day. The music, location, interior, employees and ofc the coffee was all spot on. The fact that the owner combined his passions together, coffee and trainers made this place stand out. The guy literally must have been sooo rich with the amount of limited edition trainers he had in his collection.

Toma was the first coffee shop we visited in Madrid. We found it pretty much as soon as we arrived. I loved the almost ‘toilety’ look it has with the white tiles. I also think the contrast between the way the outside looks to the inside is very effective.

My go to – avocado and pouched eggs on toast.
Pum- Pum Café was a very natural and organic coffee shop, which I appreciate. This shop and Toma had a similar vibe and look, with the hanging baskets. On the day we visited the weather was beautiful, so we was able to sit at the tables next to the huge open doors. I obviously ordered ‘my go to’ but with a few twists…..Yet it was still amazing, even with the strange apple pieces.

Doce Dos.

Doce Dos was owned by such lovely people, (brother and sister) who knew exactly what they wanted and how they would do it. The brother did the coffee and the sister did the treats- I had an amazing lemon muffin. I also thought the meaning behind the name, two (for the siblings) and sweats (for the freshly baked treats) made it unique.
